Surf 'n Turf

Three men with no fear of intimacy or injury push the boundaries of traditional improv comedy to create spontaneous theater that is physical, intense, moving, and occasionally funny.

Following the paths of legendary improv troupes Johnny Lunchpail and Centralia, Surf 'n Turf has evolved a unique style that is equal parts whimsical, surreal, and physical. When Surf 'n Turf takes the stage, time and space aren't the only things likely to be bent or broken.

The group's members, Bob Acevedo, Dave Furfero, and Ernie Privetera, have been performing together in various improvised shows since early 2003. All three were founding members of Shark vs. Buffalo, the first house ensemble at the Peoples Improv Theater in New York City (official selection at the 2004 Del Close Marathon) and Foreplay Unscripted, a groundbreaking erotic improv comedy troupe (official selection at the 2005 Chicago Improv Festival, 2005 Del Close Marathon, 2005 Toronto Improv Festival).

In 2005, the three formed Surf 'n Turf. Since then the trio has been a frequent guest at Evel Cathedral's Ash Wednesday variety show and the UCB Theater's School Night. They made their full-length debut in "Black & White" at New York City's Gotham City Improv and recently achieved international celebrity by headlining Comedy Dublin's Dublin Improv Event at the Sugar Club in Dublin, Ireland.

Now Surf 'n Turf brings its magic home to New York City with a six show run on Friday nights in November and December at the Magnet Theater in Chelsea.
